Sober Curious CNY Kayak Paddle
Join a group of like minded women exploring a sober lifestyle, or simply curious about it! Mindful, Moderate, or sober, we support change.
Welcome to Sober Curious CNY Paddles!
Sober Curious CNY women’s group invites you to join us 6/10 at 6:15pm for our first Sober Curious CNY 2026 paddle!Mindful, moderate, or sober, we support changing your relationship with alcohol at any stage, without rigid parameters, and support your self defined path to wellness.
This weather contingent event will only take place if the forecast is absent of precipitation. Kayaks, canoes, and paddle boards welcome! Don’t have one? The event will take place at Lions Park aka, Baldwinsville Community Park. They do have a limited number of kayaks for rent. They are first come first serve. Please email me at tracy@Ptrcounseling.com if you are in need of a kayak or paddle board.
Why are we paddling? What does this have to do with not drinking? Well, we are normalizing not drinking during a season specific activity enjoyed (water sports) that has become saturated with alcohol. We often hear the word “trigger” in relation to alcohol/drugs/addiction and we automatically, with minimal mindfulness, or conscious effort, have expectations that go with that activity. These cognitive connections can impact frequency and/or intensity of thoughts that lead to cravings. Rewiring your brain to normalize not drinking during activities where it was highly associated, aims to minimize triggers and unconscious associations that prompt varying intensities of thoughts and/or cravings.
These thoughts can also be limiting to recreation, overall success in moderating, satisfaction in sobriety, and prevent restoring activities once enjoyed.
I will be arriving at 5:45 to welcome you as you arrive, and to help with kayaks as needed. Life jackets required. We plan to depart at 6:30 promptly. Please plan to arrive by 6:15.
Mindful, moderate, and sober, for health and inclusion, we support self defined paths to wellness

Yoga with Sober Curious CNY & Rochelle Rude
Tuesday June 16th
Paths To Recovery Van Buren Location
7272 Van Buren Rd Baldwinsville, NY 13027
Join us for a 90-minute experience designed to support reflection, movement, and conversation around our relationship with substances.
The evening will begin with a brief check-in led by licensed therapist Tracy Carmody. From there, yoga instructor Rochelle Rude will guide participants through a gentle, accessible yoga practice focused on mindfulness, breath, and reconnecting with the body.
We’ll then close the evening with a therapist-led wrap-up discussion with Tracy, offering time for reflection and open conversation about what came up during the practice and how curiosity can help us better understand our relationships with substances.
This experience is designed to be supportive, judgment-free, and welcoming to all, whether you are sober, sober curious, or simply interested in exploring mindfulness and self-awareness in a community setting.
